Statement of claim (žaloba)
The written pleading that starts a civil lawsuit, identifying the parties, the facts, the legal basis and the relief sought.
A statement of claim opens civil litigation. It must identify the parties, describe the facts, state the legal grounds, list the evidence and set out precisely what the court is asked to order (the petit).
It is filed with the court that has jurisdiction and triggers the court fee, usually 5 percent of the amount claimed.
