How much is the court fee for a divorce?
The court fee for a divorce petition is 2,000 CZK. That is a fixed fee set by the Court Fees Act and is separate from any lawyer fee. Related proceedings, such as dividing joint marital property, carry their own fees based on the amount in dispute.
The 2,000 CZK divorce fee is set by the Court Fees Act (Act No. 549/1991). It is paid once, on filing the petition, and covers the divorce decree itself.
Custody and maintenance proceedings for minor children are free of court fees. The state does not charge for decisions in the child's interest.
Dividing joint marital property is a separate civil matter. If it goes to court, the filing fee is 2,000 CZK for a non-monetary claim, or a percentage of the value where a sum is claimed.
