What can I do if a neighbour builds on the boundary of my land?
First check the cadastral boundary and the building permit. If construction crosses onto your land, you can demand it stop and be removed, and seek an injunction. Talk to the building authority (stavební úřad) and, if needed, sue in the civil court. Act quickly, because delay weakens your position.
Ownership boundaries are recorded in the cadastre (katastr nemovitostí). A land surveyor can confirm the exact line if it is disputed.
Under the Civil Code an owner can demand that unlawful interference with their property stop. If a structure encroaches, you can ask the court for its removal, though the court weighs the cost against the harm.
The building authority supervises construction and permits. Report unpermitted or boundary-crossing works to them, and keep photographs and dates as evidence.
