Advocate fee calculator
Estimate the cost of a legal service by the type of matter and its complexity. The calculation is based on the Ministry of Justice Decree No. 177/1996 on advocate fees (the advocate tariff). The calculator fields are in Czech; the guide below explains the method in English.
Výpočet vychází z advokátního tarifu (vyhláška č. 177/1996 Sb., § 7 a § 13). Skutečná cena závisí na smluvní odměně, počtu úkonů, hotových výdajích a DPH.
How the calculation works
The advocate tariff sets a default (non-contractual) fee that a court awards when the advocate and client did not agree a contractual fee. The basis is the tariff value of the matter, from which the fee per procedural act is derived under Section 7 of the decree.
A flat overhead of 300 CZK is added per act (Section 13). Procedural acts include taking over the representation, drafting a filing, attending a hearing, or a client consultation exceeding one hour.
The real price can be higher or lower by agreement. For simpler matters advocates often offer a flat contractual fee or an hourly rate, typically 1,500 to 3,500 CZK per hour.
